Big Brothers Big Sisters – Bowl For Kids’ Sake – Logo and branding

Every year Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northcentral Wisconsin (BBBS) has developed and branded a different marketing campaign based on the decided annual theme for their Bowl For Kids’ Sake event. As a non-profit organization, they decided it best practice for them to focus their efforts on one logo that would encompass the brand year after year. BBBS desired to have a logo that would stand out over the years—something modern, yet fun—as the event is centered on kids in need of mentors.

Ontogeny tailored the design for the young professional audience that this event is geared toward, while keeping a fun spirit and making it look modern. From font selections to the placement of the bowling ball and color choices—the logo is fun and stylish but it’s still professional for the adults BBBS wants to participate. The outline of the typeface and banner keep things sleek and modern. It’s attention-getting and the design also nicely compliments the BBBS logo. The client loves the new look!

Recent Work – Young’s Drug Store

Young’s Drug Store – “Security Health Plan” Campaign.

With the announcement that a competing, local pharmacy chain will no longer accept Security Health Insurance plans, Young’s Drug Store took advantage of this opportunity to attract new customers that were displaced by this news. This was also an opportunity to remind existing and potential clients that they gladly accept all insurance plans.

Ontogeny wrote and produced a coordinating direct mail and a poster/outdoor campaign to announce this news to consumers.

Young’s Drug Store is a locally-owned and operated small business with three different pharmacy retail locations and one long-term care pharmacy in Wausau.

20 Under Forty Awards Ceremony

On November 15th, the Wausau Daily Herald presented the 20 Under Forty Awards to the many deserving honorees.

It was a great afternoon for us, honoring Mrs. Leslie Brown. Below are some highlights of the days event.

Selected as one of the 20 Under Forty honorees is Ontogeny co-founder, Leslie Brown! She was selected out of 78 outstanding nominees and is being recognized as one of the top 20 young professionals in the Wausau region.

 

The Daily Herald Media, which launched this first-time initiative, will announce each of the 20 winners online on 20 consecutive days beginning October 26th. The full list of honorees will be in print on November 16th.

The community is invited to recognize the entire group of 20 honorees during a November 15th luncheon and ceremony at the Grand Theatre in downtown Wausau. Daily Herald Media is proud to partner with the Wausau Region Chamber of Commerce for this event, and tickets may be obtained by registering here.

Big Taste. A big hit.

Once again, Ontogeny Advertising & Design was proud to be a presenting sponsor at the 6th annual Big Taste event. Thank you to the participants, sponsors and attendees for making this year another great success for local kids in need and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northcentral Wisconsin.

Also, thank you to the very talented Joe.e band. The live music, Banana Split and Big Chef Showdown entertainment made this year another stand out event. It’s no wonder why Big Taste was voted one of the best fundraisers in the Wausau City Pages 2012 Best of edition.

All of the food and beverage samplings were fantastic! There were several stand out items that made it very hard to vote in the Best of Town competition. Congratulations to the participants listed below that were awarded!

Another great Ontogeny family get-together

Before we welcome fall, the Ontogeny family took advantage of the warm Wisconsin weather we’ve been having lately. We went out for a Friday night pontoon cruise and dinner on Lake DuBay — a great way to end a busy work week. The temps were perfect and the views were breathtaking. Cheers to summer!

Camping Fun – 2013

The Ontogeny family kicked off summer with a camping weekend at the Arbor Vitae campground. The weather didn’t always cooperate, but we had a great time anyway. We enjoyed boating, swimming, tubing, grilling, garbage can turkey, games, biking and many campfires.

We love summer! And we hope you’re enjoying these summer months too.
