Big Taste. A big hit.

Oct 02, 2013

Once again, Ontogeny Advertising & Design was proud to be a presenting sponsor at the 6th annual Big Taste event. Thank you to the participants, sponsors and attendees for making this year another great success for local kids in need and Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northcentral Wisconsin.

Also, thank you to the very talented Joe.e band. The live music, Banana Split and Big Chef Showdown entertainment made this year another stand out event. It’s no wonder why Big Taste was voted one of the best fundraisers in the Wausau City Pages 2012 Best of edition.

All of the food and beverage samplings were fantastic! There were several stand out items that made it very hard to vote in the Best of Town competition. Congratulations to the participants listed below that were awarded!

We look forward to seeing you again next year!

Another great Ontogeny family get-together

Aug 28, 2013

Before we welcome fall, the Ontogeny family took advantage of the warm Wisconsin weather we’ve been having lately. We went out for a Friday night pontoon cruise and dinner on Lake DuBay — a great way to end a busy work week. The temps were perfect and the views were breathtaking. Cheers to summer!

Camping Fun – 2013

Jun 21, 2013

The Ontogeny family kicked off summer with a camping weekend at the Arbor Vitae campground. The weather didn’t always cooperate, but we had a great time anyway. We enjoyed boating, swimming, tubing, grilling, garbage can turkey, games, biking and many campfires.

We love summer! And we hope you’re enjoying these summer months too.

The Business EXPO – 2013

May 10, 2013

We enjoyed meeting and talking with many great business owners and people from around the area at the 2013 Wausau Region Business EXPO.

Here are a few shots from the day and of our display — You’ve planted the seeds of your business. We can help you GROW.

We had the privilege of partnering with the Idea Charter School to help with their campaign to create awareness and partnerships with local businesses. We designed their new logo, trade show display and coordinating collateral material. The students did a great job working the booth and representing the school. They worked really hard to put it all together.

We also had the opportunity to partner with our newest client, Fire-Ex Systems Engineering on the design of their new trade show system and coordinating collateral material.

Tips for Starting a Social Media Campaign

Apr 19, 2013

socialmedia
Entering into a social media campaign can be daunting, especially if you’ve never done it before. The best strategy does not mean being active on as many social media channels as possible. Here are some tips to consider before you add social media as part of your marketing campaign:

  • What social media channel(s) is your target market using? But more than that, who are most likely to engage with you?
  • Identify your goal. Is it to grow an audience, launch a product, drive sales, etc.?
  • What is the best way to promote your message? Is it by imagery, video, surveys, etc.? Determining this will help identify which social media channel(s) will work best. For example if it’s video – YouTube, Facebook and blogs are possible options.
  • How much of a budget and time do you have to make the campaign effective? Do you or your staff have enough time to make posts and be responsive to comments and feedback? If not, do you have the monetary resources to hire an outside firm to do this for you? Should you choose to run paid ads on these social media channels, do you have the budget to invest in them?

We’re bowling for the kids!

Feb 07, 2013

Ontogeny is a proud supporter of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northcentral Wisconsin. This year we’re bowling and raising money for the cause – Bowl For Kids’ Sake – Big Scare.

makeapledge

As you know, Big Brothers Big Sisters helps children reach their potential through professionally supported, one-to-one relationships that provide measurable impact.

Events such as BOWL FOR KIDS’ SAKE provide the funds needed to continue creating and supporting matches between “Bigs” and “Littles.” Your pledge makes a big impact on our program and the children in our area. The average cost to support an area match is approximately $650.

Where the money goes:

  • Recruiting new Big Brother and Big Sister volunteers.
  • Covering the costs of background checks, while ensuring trained professionals match Littles to responsible Bigs.
  • Enabling ongoing supervision and relationship support for every Big, Little and Little’s family.
  • Providing cultural and social activities to enrich the opportunities for children.

Help Big Brothers Big Sisters match 153 waiting Littles in the Wausau area!

Please consider making a tax deductible pledge amount to our team, supporting Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northcentral Wisconsin.
